"Truth leaps out of dark corners"
I adopted the above as one of my writing mottos about 2 years ago (many thanks to kerravonsen for the gem of wisdom)--the hardest thing for me is choosing which story to tell, which truth to explore right now.|
That's especially true since I work 40 hours a week to support my writing habit, and have limited time in which to finish long projects (for instance, I currently have 3 screenplays in various stages of writing). One way of solving my problem has been by writing fan fiction. Working within the pre-existing boundaries of a TV show or series of books has become one of my main exercises to hone my skill with language. Not only that, but the stories tend to be short, to the point, and a great way to communicate bits of the truth I see to an audience I know will read it.
For any writer, that sense of having touched someone else through one's own words is second only to the thrill of sub-creation itself.
I'm looking forward to sharing my continuing journey in writing--the practical, the emotional, the spiritual--with you all.
"Man, Sub-Creator, the refracted light/In whom is splintered from a single White/ To many hues, and endlessly combined/In living shapes that move from mind to mind."
